For the third year, the Benidorm Cultural Center offers the representation of four works of different styles and genres, from May 22 to 30, at the Cultural Center
In its continuous bet on culture, Benidorm presents its 4th Theater Show, from May 22 in the Auditorium of the Cultural Center, and has four performances, until the 30th of the same month. Different styles and genres will be seen in the various proposals that have been programmed and that are in charge of a company of professional theater and three amateurs formed by residents of Benidorm and other towns in the Marina Baixa.
The local companies are Foromutis Teatro, Alpí Teatre and Tossal Teatre, as announced by the Councilor for Culture, Jaime Jesús Pérez. All performances are offered from 8 p.m. The tickets to attend any of the five scheduled works are now available through the Web page, with a price that varies between €5, in the case of amateur performances (one euro more than last year) and €15, for the work of Yllana and Primitial Brothers. €22 passes have also been put on sale to attend the four sessions.
Programming of the 4th Benidorm Theater Exhibition
This is the programming:
- Friday, May 22: ‘The Misunderstanding’, by Albert Camus, which will be staged by three actresses and an actor from the Foromutis Teatro company. It is a drama about the fact that sometimes waiting to make a decision or not being clear about things can lead to a tragic end.
- Saturday, May 23: ‘On the moon’, a contemporary work by Alfrezo Sanzol, which won several Max Awards in 2013. It is directed by the Alpí Teatre company, with six actors and actresses. It is a comedy montage that pays tribute to the generation that was young in the 70s that lived through the Transition.
- Friday, May 29: ‘Group therapy’, by Tossal Teatre, with seven actors and actresses, directed by Manuel Palazón. It tells us about a group of people, each with their manias, who are in the waiting room of a well-known psychiatrist and are waiting to enter group therapy, but the doctor does not arrive.
- Saturday, May 30: ‘Goal’, from the professional company Yllana, which will put the finishing touch to the fourth edition of the Theater Showcase. It is a show dedicated to football, in a tone of satire. Jaime Jesús Pérez has pointed out that this show “It arrives in a year in which the World Cup is going to be played, so it fits fully with current events”.
